JPG vs PDF for Document Uploads
Choose the format a document portal expects and understand page order, text search, image quality and size trade-offs.

The upload instructions decide first
Some portals require a single JPEG photograph; others require one PDF containing several pages. Follow the accepted formats and size limits before deciding what looks more convenient. A file extension is not a substitute for real conversion. Renaming a JPEG to PDF or a PDF to JPG does not create the expected format. Check whether the destination also specifies page count, dimensions, readable text or a digitally signed original.
When a JPEG is practical
JPEG represents a single raster image and is widely useful for photographs and individual scans. It can be compressed to a byte ceiling, but heavy compression can damage small text, stamps or barcodes. It has no multi-page document structure or selectable text layer. If several images must be submitted, confirm whether the portal provides separate slots. Do not combine pages into a tiny collage unless the destination explicitly permits that layout.
When a PDF is practical
A PDF can hold multiple pages in an intended reading order and maintain a page layout for viewing or printing. However, an image-based PDF is still made of pictures; wrapping scans in PDF does not automatically produce searchable text. Nexurivo's Images to PDF workflow does not perform OCR. A PDF can also contain forms or signatures in other workflows, but those features are not added by converting JPEG images into pages.
Conversion has trade-offs
PDF to JPG renders selected pages into images. This can be appropriate for a portal requesting a scan image, but removes text selection and interactive behavior from the exported images. Images to PDF arranges pictures into pages and can add margins or crop with Fill, so inspect the layout. Neither direction guarantees a smaller file. Avoid repeated round trips, which can accumulate quality loss; make each new conversion from the best available original.
Verify the exact submission copy
Check the downloaded file's type, size, page count or image dimensions, and readability at ordinary viewing size. Review small text and any required document edges. A PDF containing the right pages in the wrong order can be as unsuitable as an oversized JPEG. Keep the source originals and upload only the prepared copy you inspected. Local conversion does not guarantee acceptance, and the receiving portal's privacy policy governs any file you subsequently send there.
