How to Make Passport Photos at Home
Prepare and print a passport-sized photo while checking the issuing authority's rules beyond dimensions alone.

Start with the issuing authority
Read the current instructions for your country and submission method before taking a photograph. Printed applications and online renewals may have different requirements. A generic passport preset addresses dimensions, not every acceptance rule. The U.S. Department of State reference below is relevant to U.S. passports; it should not be treated as a worldwide standard. Check the official source for your own application, including image recency, background, expression, head position and any restrictions on editing.
Get the capture right before resizing
Use a sharp, evenly lit original with enough space around the head and shoulders for the required crop. Follow the authority's instructions for background, clothing and expression. Avoid filters or edits that change facial appearance. A size tool cannot repair an unacceptable capture simply by producing the correct pixels. Review the image at full size for motion blur and uneven lighting before spending time on print settings. Keep the original capture separately from each prepared output.
Select the right physical or digital size
For a printed photo, choose the required millimeters or inches and a suitable print resolution. Nexurivo calculates pixels from physical size and DPI. Adjust the crop without stretching the face, then inspect the framing against the official instructions. For an online submission that specifies pixels, use those values directly in the form workflow. Do not assume that a print preset and a digital upload specification are interchangeable just because they describe the same type of document.
Print a measured trial
Export a single photo or place copies on the selected print sheet. Match the paper size in the printer application and use Actual Size or 100%. Disable automatic Fit to page, and check whether borderless printing enlarges the image. A print application's interpretation of resolution metadata can differ, so measure a trial with a ruler. Confirm the printer can handle the chosen margins before making all copies. Cutting a correctly sized sheet inaccurately can still change the final photo dimensions.
Perform the acceptance review yourself
Inspect the final print or digital file for crop, detail, color and all authority-specific conditions. Nexurivo does not perform biometric validation, verify identity or guarantee acceptance. If a photograph fails the official rules, retaking it may be necessary even when its measurements are perfect. Follow any restrictions on home printing or image manipulation from the destination. Keep a record of the official instructions you used and recheck them when preparing a later application.
