How Compress PDF works
Start with Light and inspect small text before trying stronger presets. Every page is rasterized, so searchable text, accessibility structure, forms and links are lost. A compact text PDF may become larger; compare the actual bytes and keep the original when that happens.
- Choose supported files. Encrypted PDFs are not supported.
- Review the order, selected pages and output settings.
- Create the result locally and inspect the downloaded document.
Choose images in Images to PDF to create a new document from pictures.
Privacy and limitations
Your PDF is processed locally in your browser. Files are not uploaded. PDF previews do not run embedded scripts or follow links.
Up to 25 MiB per PDF, 100 pages and 100 MiB of selected files. Complex documents may need a smaller selection. Page editing does not preserve interactive forms, annotations or document-level extras. Compression rasterizes pages and may increase size; keep your originals.
