Are my images uploaded?
No. All image processing happens in your browser. The chosen file is not sent to a server.
Will my image always get smaller?
No. Already optimized files may not get smaller. PNG uses lossless browser encoding; a quality slider does not apply. Target-size tools support JPG, PNG and WebP and may reduce dimensions.
What happens to image metadata?
Canvas re-encoding generally drops source metadata and may change color representation. When regular compression retains the smaller original, its metadata remains. Keep a backup of your source.
